Shaun Gardiner is the creator of the austerity project.
Shaun is a writer and artist based in northern Scotland, where he lives with his wife and their two cats and dog. In 2022 he published his first graphic novel, The Boy with Nails for Eyes, which was listed for the Myriad First Graphic Novel Prize in 2018. He has received prizes for his poetry, and has written the words for short operas which have been staged in London and Gothenburg.
